5 types of shoes I can't do without.

The most important accessory for me while dressing up is a nice pair of shoes. If they are nice, you are good to go. Doesn't matter if they are loubs or not, if they look neat and fit you like a glove then they are yours to be. A girl can never have enough shoes as they have to change according to an occasion, weather, outfit, mood and some other factors.

One of my favourites are belly . Apart from the comfort factor they look good on almost everything. They look elegant and I like wearing them for a casual outing and also on ankle length culottes or trousers.

The mules look very nice and they feel quite comfortable too. I like wearing them on jeans and casual wear. I dont like to wear them for summers though as they make my toes sweat.

Jutis are my fave option when it comes to ethnic wear or dresses which have a bit of embroidery on it. They come in amazing colours and combinations and look so pretty. They make the feet look super stylish.

Stilettoes are every girls go to option for parties. Though they are immensely painful, wearing them exclusively for parties or formal events is manageable. They not only add a couple of inches of height to a petite person but also give a nice gait to to ones posture. They look chic. I like to keep them for elaborate dressing occasions. When you need to dress up for parties or Weddings, stilettoes are your best option. Choose the strappy ones for extra oomph

Peep-toes are another solid option for party wear and they create a bit of a drama. I like to wear them with skirts and dresses. I always feel like peep-a- toes makes you look savvy. You can wear them to work and pair them with skirts and pants and pretty much everything.

The one shoe type I much dislike is a loafer. For me loafers look like men shoes. Wedges are the next on my dislike list. I feel very clumsy wearing them. Also they look very bulgy. My feet have strange hostility towards wedges. I trip continuously in them. Then there are platforms heels. I feel very uncomfortable walking in them. I have stopped wearing them much, as they too make me stumble a bit. Also they look hedious on my feet.

So if you girls think there is always room for another pair of shoes, you are definitely a shoe addict like me. I believe that good shoes take you to good places. So always wear a good pair of shoes. Happy shopping!

Is your emotional bandwidth taking a dip?

Dont we all occassionally need a break from the daily grind? We sometimes are so emotionally drained that we cannot handle anything more. We exercise, eat nutritious food, sleep for more than six hours and still feel exhausted. Is it because there is too much on the plate? So much is expected from you. Kids want to play with you, hubby wants to know where his socks have disappeared for the 23rd time, you have to decide what you want to wear for work, inlaws just called to know when you can spend time with them, boss wants to know if you can prove your mettle and that he has not made a mistake by hiring a woman who has two kids and a lot going on with her. So many decisions. Small or not, doesn't matter. The fact that so many people are dependent on you for all the answers can be sometimes overwhelming. When as friends, women talk and share, they expect to get support from each other. They share stories and experiences and ask- what do you think? Am I doing the right thing....

Dad flying to London, made history!

My dad is aviophobic and so when he reached London, I heaved a sigh of relief. My parents were visiting my kid brother who is put up in London since last four years. He had been asking them to visit him since he shifted there. However it always felt on dads deaf ears. My dad has become a little bit socially awkward since past couple of years. He wasn't always like that though. I mean yes, he never liked to travel a lot. His definition of travel meant a twenty minutes ride to my place to meet his granddaughters. Apart from these visits he makes a couple of rounds to the doctors office and once in a blue moon visits his relatives and friends after a lot of pestering from mum. My mum likes to travel a lot. She is ever so excited about exploring new places. So this time around too dad had made it very clear that as he is scared of flying he wont join mum on her visit to London. My mother had to remind him that British Airways will be taking care of the flying part and all he h...

Why drinking tea won't change your skin colour.

It's not a secret that in our Indian society people still look at dusky skin colour with much disdain. They will talk about how progressive they are but at the same time twitch their nose at anyone who do not conform to their standards of beauty and intellect. People still think drinking tea which is dark in colour might literally change their skin colour. So the more you drink tea the duskier you become. I cant decide who is more stupider - the people who are perpetuating this to be true or the people who dont drink tea in the fear of getting duskier. Nothing could be more outlandish than a beverage getting to decide who can be fair and who cannot be fair. Furthermore someone needs to tell the dogmatics that the colour of the skin is different because of the melanin in our body which has changed and evolved according to the climatic conditions and relocation of our ancestors for their survival. Just because one is dark coloured you cannot differentiate him/her. The only ...
